Tips, tricks, and helpful hints:
-
Crock Pot Meat: I prep all my crock pot meals the night before in the crock pot and put in the fridge over night. In the morning I start cooking it before I leave the house for the day. Most of the time these meals cook for more than 8 hours, for more than 20 years I have used frozen meat and not thawed when I prepared them and it always comes out great.
-
Freezer Cooking: I have recently found that almost all my crock pot meals can be prepped in large, freezer bags and put in freezer until I'm ready to make them. Add everything to the bag except any liquids and freeze. Write on the bag what the meal is, what needs to be added (including the measurement), and what I make with it as this takes all the guess work out of what's for dinner. Note: Take the meal out the night before to thaw in the fridge some to make it easier to get them in the crock pot.
