Prime Rib Roast

November 29, 2018

Prep Time : 15 minutes
Cook Time : Approx. 2 hours
Yield : 6

Ingredients:

5 1/2 lbs prime rib
Worcester sauce
Montreal steak seasoning

Horseradish:
1 cup sour cream
3-4 Tbs prepared horseradish (I use 3-4 Tbs creamy and extra hot horseradish to taste - I like it on the hot side)
pepper
1/8 tsp Worcester sauce
a couple drops of pepper sauce

Jus:
3/4 cup dry red wine
2 1/2 cup beef broth
salt
pepper
browns/drippings
heat all and simmer for 10 minutes

Directions:

Prepare grill.

Score fat, cover in Worcester sauce and season with Montreal steak seasoning (heavy)
heat grill to 350. Grill at 375-400 for 2 hours
120-130 degrees in the middle of the meat for rare.
Let rest for 15-30 minutes.

Nutrition:

Calories depends on how large you cut it and how much sauce you use.

My notes:

I have tried several other recipes for prime rib and this one is still by far the best!  You can also make this in a roster oven or standard oven using the same temperatures and about the same amount of time.
